Ingredients

Cabbage – The foundation of the dish. Once softened, the leaves become tender and slightly sweet, creating the perfect wrap to hold the hearty filling.
Ground Beef – Adds rich, savory flavor and protein while keeping the filling hearty without being overly greasy.
Italian Sausage – Brings extra depth and seasoning with subtle notes of herbs, adding warmth and bold flavor to the meat mixture.
Eggs – Act as a binder, helping the filling stay firm yet tender as it cooks.
Zestiny All Purpose Blend – A seasoning mix that enhances overall flavor, adding balanced saltiness and layered spice to the filling.
Sugar – Balances the acidity of the tomatoes, creating a smoother, more well-rounded sauce.
Parsley – Adds a fresh, slightly peppery brightness that lightens the richness of the meat.
Oregano – Contributes earthy herbs notes that complement the Italian-style sauce.
Minced Garlic – Provides bold, aromatic depth and enhances the savory elements of the dish.
Yellow Onion – Adds natural sweetness and moisture, enriching both the filling and overall flavor.
Celery – Offers subtle crunch and mild earthiness, adding dimension to the vegetable base.
Bell Pepper – Brings gentle sweetness and a freshness that balances the rich meats.
Jasmine Rice – Helps bind the filling while absorbing juices from the meat and sauce, creating a soft, cohesive texture.
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese – Adds creamy richness and a mild, melty finish that makes the rolls extra comforting.
Italian Peeled Tomatoes – Provide bright, fresh tomato flavor and texture to the sauce.
Marinara Sauce – Forms a seasoned, savory base that keeps the cabbage rolls moist as they bake.
Crushed Tomatoes – Add body and thickness to the sauce, creating a rich, hearty consistency.
How To Make Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
1. Prepare the Cabbage
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully place the whole head of cabbage into the pot and boil for 6–8 minutes, or until the outer leaves are tender and flexible. Remove the cabbage and let it cool slightly. Gently peel off the softened leaves and trim any thick stems at the base so they roll easily.
2. Make the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, Italian sausage, chopped celery, onion, bell pepper, eggs, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, cooked jasmine rice, and Zestiny All Purpose Blend. Mix everything together until well incorporated, but do not overmix.
3. Assemble the Rolls
Lay a cabbage leaf flat on a clean surface. Add about ⅓ cup of the filling to the center. Fold the sides inward, then roll the leaf tightly from the bottom up to fully enclose the filling. Repeat with remaining cabbage leaves and filling.

4. Prepare the Sauce
In a large pot, combine marinara sauce, peeled tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Stir in sugar to balance the acidity and season with additional Zestiny All Purpose Blend and oregano if desired.
5. Cook the Cabbage Rolls
Carefully place the stuffed cabbage rolls seam-side down into the simmering sauce. Cover and cook over low–medium heat for about 45 minutes, stirring the sauce occasionally to prevent sticking.

6. Finish with Cheese
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the top. Cover again and cook just until the cheese is fully melted. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Ingredient Highlight: Zestiny All Purpose Blend
What makes these cabbage rolls stand out is the seasoning.
My Zestiny All Purpose Blend adds depth, balance, and that “what is THAT?” flavor without needing a long list of extra spices. It blends perfectly with the beef and sausage and enhances the tomato sauce without overpowering it.
If you’re making this recipe, don’t skip it. It truly brings everything together.
