Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb mild ground Italian sausage
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp Zestiny All Purpose Blend
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 small yellow onion chopped
  • 2 stalks celery chopped
  • 1 small bell pepper chopped
  • 1 cup jasmine rice cooked
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 28 oz can Italian peeled tomatoes
  • 1 24 oz jar marinara sauce
  • 1 15 oz can crushed tomatoes

Instructions

  • Boil cabbage in a large pot of water for 6–8 minutes, or until leaves are tender. Remove, let cool slightly, separate leaves, and trim thick stems.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Italian sausage, eggs, rice, celery, onion, bell pepper, garlic, parsley, oregano, and Zestiny All Purpose Blend. Mix until fully combined.
  • Place ⅓ cup filling in the center of each cabbage leaf. Fold in sides and roll tightly. Repeat with remaining leaves.
  • In a large pot, combine marinara sauce, peeled tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes. Bring to a simmer. Stir in sugar and adjust seasoning if needed.
  • Add cabbage rolls seam-side down into sauce. Cover and cook over low–medium heat for 45 minutes.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, cover, and cook until melted. Serve warm.
