Why You’ll Love These Cheesesteak Breadsticks
- The cheesesteak flavor, perfect for dipping – Juicy steak, melty cheese, and savory seasoning wrapped in soft, golden breadsticks make every bite pure comfort food.
- Perfect for sharing – They’re easy to pull apart, dunk in sauce, and serve as an appetizer, snack, or game-day favorite.
- Crispy outside, cheesy inside – That contrast of toasted bread with gooey, flavorful filling is hard to beat and keeps you coming back for more.
Ingredients

Pizza or breadstick dough – Bakes up soft and fluffy on the inside with a lightly crisp, golden exterior, creating the perfect vessel to hold all the savory filling.
Thinly sliced steak – Brings rich, beefy flavor and tender bites that are classic to a traditional cheesesteak.
Mozzarella or provolone cheese – Melts smoothly into the steak and vegetables, adding creamy, stretchy cheesiness that ties everything together.
Onions – Cook down to a lightly sweet, caramelized flavor that balances the richness of the meat and cheese.
Green bell peppers – Add a subtle sweetness and mild crunch, giving freshness and texture to each bite.
Butter or olive oil – Enhances flavor and helps the breadsticks bake up golden while carrying the seasonings evenly across the dough.
Seasoning blend (garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning) – Infuses the filling and dough with savory depth, warmth, and a well-rounded, classic cheesesteak flavor without overpowering the other ingredients.
How To Make Cheesesteak Breadsticks
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking dish or sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
2. Cook the Cheesesteak Filling
Heat a skillet over low-medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper and sauté for about 5 minutes, or until softened and translucent.
Add the steak-umms (or shaved beef), breaking it apart as it cooks. Continue cooking until the steak is fully cooked through.
Pour in the Worcestershire sauce and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and Cajun seasoning. Stir well so everything is evenly coated.
Turn off the heat and immediately stir in the provolone slices until completely melted and creamy. Set aside.
3. Make the Garlic Butter
In a microwave-safe dish, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and chopped parsley, then mix until fully combined.
4. Assemble the Breadsticks
Place the pizza dough onto the parchment-lined baking dish and gently stretch it into a rectangle.
Brush half of the garlic butter mixture evenly over the dough.
Spoon the cheesesteak mixture neatly onto one half of the dough. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the filling.
Fold the empty side of the dough over the filling, creating a large calzone-style pocket. Press the edges gently to seal.
Brush the remaining garlic butter on top of the dough.
5. Slice Cheese and Bake
Using a pizza cutter, lightly score the top into breadstick strips (don’t cut all the way through).
Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the top.
Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
6. Make Dipping sauce, Serve and Enjoy!
While the breadsticks bake, mix together the mayonnaise and sriracha until smooth and creamy.
Let the breadsticks cool slightly, then cut fully through and serve warm with the dipping sauce. Enjoy every cheesy bite!
