Smothered Turkey Wings

These delicious wings are seasoned to perfection, slow baked until fall apart tender, and smothered in a creamy, savory gravy made from the pan drippings.

Ingredients

  • 6 whole turkey wings
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • ½ stick butter cut into squares
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth
  • 10.5 oz can cream of chicken with herbs
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • Injectable Creole butter optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F. Coat the turkey wings in vegetable oil and season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, Cajun seasoning, poultry seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Place the wings in a baking dish. Add the butter squares on top, then layer the sliced onions and peppers. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the dish. Cover with foil and bake for 1½–2 hours, or until the wings are tender.
  • Pour the pan juices into a saucepan. Add the cream of chicken with herbs and stir over medium heat until smooth and combined.
  • Pour the gravy over the turkey wings and bake uncovered for 20 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
